WINK-UP - AUGUST 2011

KAT-TUN SILENT PRESENCE

NAKAMARU

The “SOUND” that has the summer feeling
The "zaza" sound of waves! I like that so much. Since I don’t go near the see when it’s not summer, when I hear it I feel “it’s summer, right~”. If it’s a sound I hear during the day, then it’s probably the cicada’s voice. The wind-bell sound is fine too, but with the cicadas I feel the summer more.

Nakamaru’s indispensable summer item
Half pants. Every year I buy and add them, I already went to buy this year ones 3 days before. When I wear half pants, more than thinking about what wearing on top, I’m concerned about what to match on the feet. I often use sneakers also in summer. I already said that with sandals I’m afraid toes will be hurt, but recently I thought “this year, let’s try wearing sandals” and went to buy them. But that time there wasn’t my size… I’ll obtain them and this summer I’ll try to have my sandal debut.

The “small happiness” of summer
The simple feeling you have after taking a shower. That refreshing sense doesn’t stop, right~ In summer, even if you stay at home, you become all sticky at once, right? Then when I feel my skin being sticky I want to take a shower. I don’t do the shampoo every time I wash, so my hair become all curly for the humidity (laughs) but I leave them as they are. Since during summer I am very rough also in clothes, also a rough lifestyle is summer-ish.

The care that I want girls to have because it’s summer
When we go out by car, the fact she buys drinks while I’m taking out the car. Since in hot summers drinks becomes particularly necessary, I’m grateful for it. If she does it voluntary, she really helps me. Like, if she does this for me, inside of me that girl surely takes points! Being caring, it’s impossible that a girl suffers a loss! Parenthesis, actually this kind of care… I’ve never received it by a girl! (Bitter smile)

Recent happening
Recently I’m studying soccer in private time a lot. I’ve become like a physical education student! (laughs) Now, I’m consulting the teacher about the nature of the direction of the thesis, and thinking about it is fun, it can’t be helped. What I’m studying is culture and humanistic faculty, but I was suggested by the teacher “what about taking as theme the showbiz world?”. Now I’m exactly studying media literacy, and I was also told “If you research for 2 years, you can release it as book”, so now I’m totally in this mood (laughs). What I have interest in but are unrelated to the research are “media”, military affairs”, “international situation with East Asia as center”, but outside media there isn’t something I’m good at, and all around the world the media argument is becoming a hot topic too, so I think it’s perfect. Actually, if it will become a book or not… please wait 2 years after I can finish writing my thesis! (laughs)

SOMEHOW, TSUGURU AND TSUKUMOCCHAN REMIND ME OF SOMETHING ELSE *COUGH*

WINK UP - JUNE 2011
Nakamaru Yuuichi's "Please give the idea to me”

ARTIST’S COMMENT
This time I didn’t paint a “find the mistake”. I wanted to answer to some requests so I draw 2 cartoon characters’ themes. There were plenty of requests for [drawing] the members, so I chose the dog races one, but I didn’t draw them skillfully. Members also commented a lot, but this time I tried to persist with my ideas.
Then, I also answered to a spring taste request.

REQUEST 1: I always look forward to this WU’s corner. My drawing request is: drawing some cartoon characters of different dog races. I like Nakamaru-kun’s drawing touch, I really would like to see this one. I have a Chihuahua at home so I’d be glad if there was a Chihuahua. (Penname: none)

THEME: DOGGIE-KAT-TUN
I tried to draw and answer to the request “draw the members as dog characters”. Probably the image of KAT-TUN keeping dogs is quite widespread. I have received such a request many times. For this reason I challenged it today. There were many opinions from the members saying that "*different race* is good", but this time I ignored their opinions and drew them as I thought (laughs)

CHARACTERS’ EXPLANATION

Kamechs: It doesn’t eat anything but good dog food. An innate high-level dog.
Nakamaru’s comment: Isn’t Kame a bit Dachshund-like? And isn’t he keeping a Dachshund? Then I made him a Dachshund. Also this dog’s nature is similar to Kame’s. He has simply become a dog (laughs)

Collinosuke: it sleeps a lot and has a warm behavior. Always sleepy.
Nakamaru’s comment: I don’t know its real behavior, but at first glance it looks a quiet dog, so I thought Taguchi as a Collie. It’s my mental image, so I don’t know if it’s fitting.

Doberkoki: It eats meat and doesn’t eat vegetables. Intimidates other dogs.
Nakamaru’s comment: I thought Koki as a Doberman. How to say, I thought that their intimidating characters were similar. [This Koki’s portrait] was well received by Ueda too.

Beagleyuichi: A conservative.
Nakamaru’s Comment: At first I thought of drawing another kind of dog race, but I couldn’t draw it decently so I stopped. Beagleyuichi is a conservative character, so it’s a character similar to me.

Tatsuyatian: It likes to move and is restless. A character that likes running. Friendly.
Nakamaru’s comment: You know, Ueda was the most difficult! Actually I wanted to draw that one… the small size fluffy dog that looks like a stuffed toy… what’s its name? That one that’s very popular now… ah! Toy poodle! Yes, I drew him as a toy poodle but it wasn’t a good drawing so I made him a Dalmatian.

REQUEST 2: In spring cherry blossoms bloom, many insects come out, it has a warm image, so I’d like you do draw something using “spring” as theme. (Penname: none)

THEME: SPRING
I suppose that when this number is on sale the Hanami season will be already finished, but during this interview cherry blossoms are exactly in full blossom, so I answered to this request. Kame asked me to let him think about one character name, but it didn’t change so much from the one I chose, so I rejected it (laughs)

CHARACTERS’ EXPLANATION

(clockwise order)

SAKURA: When the best bloom season arrives, everyone looks for the sakura tree. Hibernant (animals) or sleeping people exit outside.
HACCHII (sounds like “bee”): It moves a lot. It thinks a lot about his companions and it’s trusted by people.
TSUGURU AND TSUKUMOCCHAN: They were waiting for the spring. They’re really happy for the long-awaited spring that has arrived. Their behavior is kind. They’re an “indoor” type, so while it’s cold they hide and play games.
ASUKA AND SAYAKA (the 2 flowers): They like girls talk very much. They only talk about Make-up, nails, sweets.
JUSTINE/JUSTIN (the sexless ladybug LOL): It’s right in the middle of enjoying this spring. It’s warm so it becomes sleepy. Following the weather, it feels happy.

YEAH, STAY AS YOU ARE! KEEP WEARING RED UNDERWEAR^^

Who knows, maybe it will bring you luck! LOL

Duet - February 2010
Nakamaru's Part

Q1. What are your goals in your private life for the year 2010 ?

This year too, I would like to pursue my university studies at my own pace. Because I have to wake up early in the morning, I often feel like having a nap during my work time. Talking about this, I felt once a real perfection. Now, I improve the weak knowledge that I have about brain's construction. I find it kind of interessting to learn things that I didn't knew. For that, I think that this year I'll read much books. In the book that I read now, they're speaking about the influence that the television have on us, so when I'm recording a show, I think about whay they say in. Believe all the things written on books isn't a necessary a good thing, I think that to have our own way of thinking is also precious.

Q2. What are your aims in your work life for the year 2010 ?

I would like to reach a kind of perfection. Of course, I want to be number one at work and to improve my work's quality, I think that to always train my body is important. Moreover, it's important to balance my private life and my work one. And I want to travel. I told to myself that I'll do a travel each year but I haven't choose this year's place. To have new private experiences as much as possible, I would like to travel during my work? But it seems that it's a mistake if I doesn't speak about it ['I have to speak about it with manager-san' for example]. But before that, they are things that I want to do in my work (laughs). For myself, I think that I have to correct my weak personnality. I'll become stronger. But if it is something impossible, I will surely give up this idea... (laughs).

Q3. What are your wish and predictions about other members for the year 2010 ?

What Nakamaru wants for the others :

Kamenashi : I think, even I really weak in baseball, that you shouldn't force you body to erase the muscle pain that you have in feet/legs. Also, learn me [how to play baseball]. About my predictions, I think that after your dorama ["Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge"] skulls will totally enter to your heart. But please do your best !

Akanishi : Your movie will be in release soon, your solo single is already out, le number of your solo activites will increase , but I would like you to have a work life as a KAT-TUN member too. So I think that seeing the way you're spread yourself to other area/things, this year will be a very important one for you.

Taguchi : We both went to "table game" [WTF it is ?] together, aren't we ? Generally we go ther twince a year. My wish for you if surely about that. My predition about you... What will it be ? Taguchi will live happily. It's sure. This year too, as all the other, Taguchi will life as he want to.

Tanaka : I want to hold a solo concert alone with Koki. Tecnhically, is it possible to do it around the half of the year, isn't it ? About the prediction, I think that Koki will shown us that his image is ten thousand miles away the real "him".

Ueda : I don't have any wishes for Ueda. I just would like him to don't change. Mah, if I told him to change, he will be embarassed (laughs). About my predictions, I think that he will, as a buch of years, continue the boxing. And thanks to that, he will became stronger and stronger.

What the others want for Nakamaru :

Kamenashi : Please hurry to change yourself ! When we hang out together (they hang out the day before the interview) to drink only water isn't goo (laugs). Change also your way to dress yourself, I beg you. Even your underwear ! To wear boxers, it's ok, but why are the red !? Isn't it to monotone !?

Akanishi : I really want you to do your best for your studies but also for your work. If you want to have your university degree, I'll support you too ! Recently, you began to learn Korean so if one day you really go to this country, I think that you will put a lot much effort into it !

Taguchi : My wish for you is that we go back to the "table game". I want that our bond continue as long as possible. My prediction about you is that you'll have your university diploma at the end of the year. Ah, am I wrong ? It seems. So Nakamaru-kun will stay a 3rd year university student next year (laughs)

Tanaka : Stay as you are (laughs). Kame told you to change them, but I like your underwears as they are. Your style has never changed, isn't it ? Ah, shall we creat the unit "TaNaka" together !? And our first song will be called "Daite Señorita".

Ueda : I think that this year too, Nakamaru will be able to do the things that he wants too. It's for that that I want him to live using his chances. I'm sure that this year Nakamaru will reach the perfection, in his work life and his private too, am I right ?

Potato - July 2007
Nakamaru's Part

-In one year, what new happened to KAT-TUN :

To do a concert with the best plan and to step forward our second anniversary made me really happy. This year's tour finished in Tokyo Dome and if I can, I would like to do it again ! After, honnestly,I really would like that 'Cartoon KAT-TUN' (on Nihon TV) continue as much as possible.It's a show that everybody has waited for, I hope that we'll grow up tahnks to that. Aboutmy personnal work, I wait for my dorama "Sushi Oji!" (will be on air during July on Asahi TV) to be on air (rires).As I think to improve myself at acting, I also would like to play in a film one day.

-The bonds were born during this year's tour :

I really ejoyed this tour, that KAT-TUN made as a six-persons-group. The fans was wild and I really have the feeling that it was because of our power. And if the next near we haven't concerts, after having this perfect tour, I'll feel empty. Moreover, I was really empty to see so much guest !! I told myself "It means that more and more people are looking forward for us", I felt that deeply. During my solo corner, I do intense dance steps, so after doing that I was exhausted (laughs). But I really like carried the best feelings by this way.

-And recently ?

Recently, I bought our tour' DVD. I find it very useful. But we think that the set-list is the same (than during the tour itself), no ?
Our have been edited (laughs). Tomorrow, since I'll be at my home, I'll can watch "Cartoon KAT-TUN" (rires). And during "YOUtachi!" (on Nihon TV) food' taste seems to have changed for me after the corner "kira clear file". It's for this reason that I find that lemon is very sweet for me now. This thing has continue even after the show, onigiris that I ate on my dressing room were sweet too (laughs)

THE ADVENTURES OF NAKAMARU YUICHI

... are these called adventures or he just worry too much? ehehe

MYOJO - APRIL 2011

I’m the type that doesn’t have many adventures. Speaking about the adventure I remember, it’s something at the level of entering into a restaurant that has the aura “we don’t accept first time customers”. Particularly, regarding money I’m very conservative. At the end, I choose not to use them, because you don’t know what will happen from now on in life. I discern necessary and unnecessary things, without buying anything and everything. Even if I bought everything I temporary want, I’m the type that doesn’t feel completely satisfied. On the contrary, reducing the expenses to the minimum level, I’m satisfied! Speaking about simple stuff, clothes are necessary, but you can live even if you don’t have clothes over the necessary level, right? That demarcation line is difficult! This is a standard worry that comes every season. First of all, spring clothes: I’ve already bought knitwear and shirts, those are enough. But even this “me”, to be honest, is wondering if beginning a new adventure or not. Looking at the so-called University’s syllabus (the study plan) I’m wondering which seminars take. My first choice was a seminar about South-East Asia studies, but there are conditions like you must be fluent in English, or absolutely taking part in a summer camp. And then another one surfaced, a seminar that studies agriculture. But that agriculture seminar is the most popular because of feasibility study. This means the possibility not to be able entering it is high. Taking a seminar with harsh conditions, or taking the most popular seminar… it seems the choice will become my greatest adventure in my life!

"MY WHITE SIDE IS THAT I'VE LEARNED DOING HOUSEWORK SERIOUSLY" ~NAKAMARU YUICHI~

... come and clean my room, pleaseeeeeeeeee *bambi eyes*

ORISTA
Dated : 30th May 2011

If you could produce KAT-TUN’s next single, which song would you choose? (Girl from Niigata prefecture, 19 years old)
As coupling song I want a cover of a Johnny’s senpai song. If we did a song by a duo group like Kinki Kids, it would sound fresh and amusing~

Regarding your job as commenter of “Shuuichi”, is there something you began to do or you pay attention to? (Girl from Hokkaido, 24 years old)
I became able to look at the articles, for example newspapers’, more and more until the details. I think that also before I was sensitive to many news, but being in the position to speak in TV, in order to keep up with whichever topic, I always prepare on many news and then face the broadcast.

What’s your recent recommended sweet? (Girl from Kanagawa prefecture, 23 years old)
Recently at home I often eat fruits, like oranges and grapes.

Comparing to the period [when the group] was formed, in what do you think you’ve grown up? (Girl from Fukuoka prefecture, 19 years old)
I/we have reached a modulation of the voice. I think each one reached [to know] the limit in which [each one/we] can freely move, inside the sphere of what we can do.

What’s the best healing thing? (Girl from Tochigi prefecture, 20 years old)
Mister. Even if it’s a mini Dachshund it looks like a Schnauzer (laughs), it’s my cute child (pet).

Connected to the new song “WHITE”, what’s your WHITE side and on the contrary, what’s the BLACK side? (Girl from Kanagawa, 16 years old)
My WHITE side is that recently I’ve learned doing housework seriously. I do the laundry, wash dishes, and throw the trash more or less every day. The BLACK side, many years ago I bought a hanging machine because I wanted to build up muscles, yet now it’s a clothes rack (laughs). Well, I’m using it in a way or another (laughs).

100% OF THE REASON I WATCH SC IS YUCCHI

KoyaMaru Graduation: Thank you for all you’ve done these last 5 years!
TV Pia No. 591
Dated : 16th of March 2011

Since 2006, Keiichiro Koyama and Yuichi Nakamaru have hosted NHK's “ザ 少年倶楽部 (The Shonen Club)” for the past five years. But as of the show's 10th anniversary special on March 10, the two will graduate from their posts. We caught up with them after their shoot to talk about their junior days, memories, and what makes the show special.

Q: How do you feel having finished your last shoot?

Koyama: Like it’s really finished now.

Nakamaru: Right!

Koyama: It really hit me!

Nakamaru: Yeah, I feel like I accomplished something. It’s sad though.

Koyama: Well, we did do it for five years.

Nakamaru: It became a part of our lives.

Q: Do you have anything you want to say to each other?

Nakamaru: So many things.

Koyama: I’ve got a lot of things too.

Nakamaru: Koyama always got things going like clockwork, and even though I was meant to do that too, there were times I let him take the lead. He let me do what I wanted to!

Koyama: I made sure that things are based on the script, and then Nakamaru would jump in from a different perspective. It’s like I was the foundation and Nakamaru was the cherry on top. We made a good team I think. (laughs)

Nakamaru: Well, having done it for five years, you’d expect that. (laughs)

Koyama: I did wonder why it was the two of us in the beginning. (laughs)

Nakamaru: I know! (laughs)

Q: When you found out that you’d be hosts, did you get together and talk about it?

Nakamaru: No, not really. I’d been told that there could be a change to the hosts as well.

Koyama: That’s right.

Nakamaru: So we didn’t have any, “let’s go for it team!” moments.

Koyama: But I think we managed to help one another out. (laughs)

Nakamaru: That’s true!

Koyama: He was so easy to work with. I think that by working with Nakamaru-kun, we were able to make that breezy Shonen Club environment.

Q: What’s the most memorable moment you had on the show?

Koyama: Well, hosting the show has been the biggest highlight of course, but the first time I ever performed on the show is up there too. Johnny-san told me to get into costume, learn the dance moves, and on the day he told me, “when I push you, run out to the center and dance”. When I watched the show on TV, they had labeled us as “Fresh Jr.” and I was dancing in the center.

Nakamaru: I remember when Koyama first went on TV. Juniors usually have two ways of coming on stage, either they just jump out, or they start coming on stage little by little. That day, the juniors that jumped out were all tiny kids and how old were you, Koyama?

Koyama: I was in high school! (laughs)

Nakamaru: Which was why I was like, “who is that!?” (laughs)

Koyama: I was surprised too. (laughs)

Nakamaru: My most memorable moment would be holding a mic for the first time. I sang “Boogie-woogie Cat”. But for some reason just before the shoot, they told us to take off our costumes and wear the clothes we had worn to work that day.

Koyama: Your private clothes?

Nakamaru: Yeah, and my clothes that day were really plain (laughs). Well, not really plain, but I do remember thinking that if only someone had told me further beforehand then I would’ve worn some better clothes (laughs). Actually, don’t you think that the juniors these days get to hold mics faster than we did? (laughs)

Koyama: I hope they can appreciate it as much as we did! (laughs) Cause we worked so hard for it eh.

Nakamaru: It’s almost like kids these days have too many opportunities! (laughs)

Koyama: They do! But I think it’ll raise their chances of being recognized so I hope they learn to work hard.

Q: As hosts of the show, what have you been able to get from this experience?

Koyama: I got to break down that wall separating me and the juniors. And learning how to ask juniors questions in a way that made it easier for them to answer. It was really hard, but I think it was great training for me.

Nakamaru: Being able to watch the show as a whole. Until this came along I’d only been interested in watching the bits I was in, but now I can start to think about what would make the show more interesting for our audience.

Q: Surely you’ll be invited back on the show as guests in the future?

Nakamaru: That is going to feel SO much easier!

Koyama: I know! We should just mess things up! (laughs)

Nakamaru: (laughs)

Koyama: But then again, we know how to host so I guess we can help out too.

Q: What’s your most memorable song?

Koyama: “青春のフィーバー (Seishun no Fever)”. That was the ending theme to the show where I had a mic for the first time. The ending theme changes every week so I can hear a song and remember when that was and what I was doing.

Nakamaru: The song where Tackey (Hideaki Takizawa), Subaru-kun (Shibutani), and Yamashita-kun (Tomohisa) came into it with their dance routine. They sung it as a medley on TV and it was one of our senior’s songs. I remember thinking that they looked so cool. It’s just that I’ve forgotten which song it was. (laughs)

Q: What advice do you have for the next hosts, Hey! Say! JUMP?

Koyama: A lot of the juniors today really admire members of Hey! Say! JUMP. So for them, I think they’re really excited that their heroes are hosting their show. It might be hard at first, but you’ll definitely learn something good from this experience.

Nakamaru: I’d recommend that they have more fun rather than concentrate on trying to do a good job. I think a lot of the skills will come to them naturally before they realize it.

Q: Finally, can you tell me what the highlight of “Shonen Club” is?

Nakamaru: I think it’s being able to enjoy seeing tomorrow’s pop stars. This is really a place where future pop stars grow up, but it’s also a really fun show by itself.

Koyama: It’s a show that has made a lot of Johnny’s & Associates history. You can enjoy watching these guys starting as back dancers and then moving their way to the top, months or even years before you spot them on music shows. There are a lot of gems in there who aren’t polished yet, so I think this is a show where fans can find the gems that will eventually shine.

I WANT A CHILD LIKE HIM

if I can't have a husband like him

POPOLO - JUNE 2011

“At my grandma's”
That picture was taken at my grandma's house ✩ I'm so young! Ah, at that time, I rode my bike to explore the next city for the first time. I thought, “Now I'm all grown up...” (laughs).

This is an experience you have as a boy I think, so I also made a secret base in a forest-like place called “Usagi hill” near the corner of the fields of the elementary school. Then, when I was watching TV, I somehow thought that Dracula was cool, so I dreamt of becoming Dracula (laughs). I thought, when you speak of Dracula, you immediately think of fangs, so I cut some out of paper and tried to glue them to my teeth... but in the end, no matter how often I tried, they didn't stick and I just ended up eating a lot of glue.

I also liked military stuff, and was really into the line said on Dengeki Sentai Changeman when changing their form, “Change Gryphon”, I remember repeating it all the time. And I think it's rare for a guy to also have played house? (laughs) I remember how I played it at home with my sister, and I was the cook, making a handwritten menu, taking my sister's order. My treasures during that time were a Gundam eraser and cards from the anime. Because I had a lot from winning 1 or 2 battles in the school, people thought I was so cool (laughs). If you had one of the glittering cards, you were a hero! If you think about it now, it was just rubbish though (laughs). But at that time it was a great treasure for me.

HMM, HE RECENTLY CHATTED IN ENGLISH. DO YOU HAVE TWITTER OR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT, YUCCHI? THERE'RE SO MANY FANS OUT THERE WANNA CHAT WITH YOU SOOOO BADLY!

MYOJO - MAY 2011

Nose / Conservative Looking at all my actions, they're like that, yes. Perseverance prevails A saying I like. Soccer I played it a long time ago, I like watching and playing it. What I'm interested in now... the player Nagatomo (Yuuto). Liking to watch sports Not just soccer, I also like to watch combative sports or baseball. Beatbox I still want to master it... Metal Gear I like the whole series, and since I've liked it for a long time, there's no one in KAT-TUN who can beat me. Getting up early Even if I come back late at night or have a day off, I try to get up at 8. Sometimes I get a bit tired around noon, but I can sleep well at night and I feel that if you're active from the morning on, it's not just good for your body but also for your mind. Liking sweet things I like chocolate and milk crepes, but basically my favourite is tart topped with seasonal fruits. Consuming a lot of soda I've done that for how many years now... I think it's maybe a reaction to how I was rarely allowed to drink it as a child. There's always Coke or Ginger Ale in my fridge! Drawing I often have to draw for magazines or blogs, but since I had to draw the t-shirt for 24-hour Terebi a couple of years ago, I kind of started to enjoy it. Student I get up early and study. Pretty hands I've been told that for a long time now. I hate it when my fingertips and feet get all dry and chapped. That's why I always carry hand cream to keep them moisturised. Garlic Until now the smell bothered me and it was something with a negative image for me. But then Kame persuaded me that it's nutritious and makes you energetic, so I tried it and it was very good. Eating it deep-fried with salt is awesome. Two sisters With my sister who's studying abroad in America, I recently chat in English. Japanese soccer team chips The soccer fever rose since last year, and, wanting some player cards, I suddenly bought a box. And, the first card I pulled out was Nagatomo! Liking the house / Liking mail order / Having a study room I shut myself in to listen to music, draw, study or want to think over ideas. Saving Private Ryan I like movies, but haven't seen anything above this, that's how much I like this. I watched it in the theatre, and bought the DVD not just for myself but also gave it to friends.

WISH YOU ALL THE BEST, YUCCHI (^_^)b

DUET (FEBRUARY 2011) - NAKAMARU YUICHI

A memorable moment I had last year was in October when I visited a big game company I loved since I was young. They told me to "Come visit and play once" so I took them up on their offer and went. They went so far as to show me behind the scenes where their programmers worked. I was touched. Also, compared to other years, last year I read tons of books. Though there were lots of books I had to read for class too I read at the pace of one book per month. It wasn't novels so much as books that interested me, like non-fiction. When I think about it, I've grown to read a lot more books.

Work-wise, the overseas tour left the biggest impression on me. Korea, Taiwan...and of course Japan was fun too but every fan in their hometown has a different culture so to speak. Every country had a completely different atmosphere and that was really refreshing. This was just my impression but, in Korea it seemed there were a lot of people with stylish pucci black glasses and dark hair. Anyway you put it, Taiwan was closer to Japanese people, their hair and clothing styles seemed more similar to Japan. Everyone's reactions to our songs were all different in their own respect. Not only was I happy to learn about those differences but to have made it overseas was something special; I was able to receive huge motivation and encouragement from it.

This year? Of course I want to tour again with KAT-TUN. There was a bit of talk about a concert outside of city at a complex some time this year but whether we will be able to or not, I look forward to hearing the results. Little by little we've been having more talks about it. If we could produce another album that'd be great too. If I were to speak selfishly, there's a lot that I want to do (laughs). I want to do a play! Last year I was able to act in the drama "Hanchou" but from all of that I was able to learn one thing. I'm much better during rehearsals! (laughs) You know, I'm someone who puts 100% effort into rehearsal. Of course I also intend to put on a better show than rehearsal when it's for real but in the end I'm always better during the rehearsal (laughs). That's why this year, I think it'd be nice if I could learn to control that part. In my private life, school is number one. If I could go at this pace this year with my graduation thesis and seminars, I'll graduate if I can get those credits. I hope to get all my credits without any misses. You say you want me to predict this year for the other members!? Yeah, Kamenashi will hit a home run at the Tokyo Dome! Taguchi will...anyway (laughs). Kidding kidding, I guess his wide amount of hobbies will narrow down!? That guy has a whole lot of interests you know, I think it'd be good if he could narrow them down a bit. Koki will get tired of his long hair and it'll be time that again when he turns into a buddhist monk I guess? Ueda's body fat percentage will drop again! And I will safely graduate from college!

OH! I SEE... CHRISTMAS AND GIRLFRIEND ARE RELATED... SO, WHO'S YOUR GIRLFRIEND, YUCCHI?

DUET 2011.01 - NAKAMARU YUICHI

Q1 Christmas is the most important event of the year.

YES. Together with birthdays, it's the event that has most importance. I will surely decorate the house with the tree. In 2009 I decorated using twinkling LED, but to put it in order is a pain so I left them there until January 2nd. I have to decorate once again! (laughs)

Q2 You have a spot that will surely make your girlfriend happy at Christmas.
NO. In 2009 I was wandering alone around Roppongi by chance and I was caught in the jam of people who went to see the illuminations, and I couldn't move forward. I had no chance before so I thought I’d enjoy the scenery, but since it was late in the night, before arriving at the main place they switched it off.

Q3 A Christmas present is about “love” more than a “thing”.
YES. Of course expressing love with words it's ok, and I think it's important, but at the end I want to give a present too. If possible, I want to prepare 2 presents, a normal one and a surprise one. If there is something that the girl didn't expect, it would be good.

Q4 It is fine to spend Christmas with your family too.
YES. It's many years that I haven’t spent Christmas with them, but in the past we had a party reuniting the family and the relatives. I've got a memory of when I was a child, before entering Johnny's: they tied my head with the ribbon of the cake and made me do the impression of Hikaru Genji (laughs)

Q5 At Christmas, it is better to eat handmade dinner than go out for dinner.
?. Both of them are fine. I let the girl judge. But, since it's a special day, eating outside you can enjoy the atmosphere better, so maybe this choice? To make it become a special day. If it's like that, I will use the internet and look for one!

Q6 Even without your girlfriend, Christmas would become a fun event.
NO. Wouldn't it be sad? I mean, if she isn't there, it would be a normal day (laughs). If it's just me, I wouldn't care at all, I'd get into good shape for the the first day of the New Year.
I'd turn off the decorations in the house too (laughs)

Q7 You have a sad memory about Christmas.
YES. In the past, I asked my parents for the service where a person dressed as Santa would bring me the present. I was nervous because we hadn't got a chimney so I was wondering from where he would have entered, and when he arrived from the hall simply ringing the bell I was disappointed (laughs)

Q8 You think Christmas day is a good chance to confess.
YES. If you invite her on Christmas and she says yes, you think a bit that maybe she will let you confess too, and will probably come; if she has a boyfriend, she won't come. If you think this way, isn't a day of chance for a man?

Q9 If you have to spend Christmas alone, you would watch a movie.
NO. I don't watch a movie. Probably I'd call a friend. I change topic, but speaking about Christmas, which day has more importance, the 24th or the 25th? I've always been confused by this. If I invite a girl, which day is better?

Q10 You think your ultimate Christmas will be after you get married.
?. I don't know! I mean, I've never been married!But, after creating a family, exactly for this reason the enjoyment seems to be different. Because it's better if there are lots of events or family's memories, right? Marriage... ah, Higashiyama Noriyuki-san, congratulations!

CROSSTALK BETWEEN NAKAMARU-SAMA & UEDA-KUN EHEHE

R-ONE KAT-TUN NO. 243

Rocket Start Corner
At this year’s Dome concert, the 4 girls beside me, who seem to be like primary school students said this after seeing Tatcchan’s uchiwa ,”As expected of Ueda, his collarbone is really nice ne”
N : So ueda kun, is today’s rocket able to start?
U : Nope
N : okay got it. Let’s start today’s show!
~~~~~~~~~~
N : that’s so cold..
U : no, because i really can’t stand my name being called directly.
N : that doesn’t matter right!
U : no…I just don’t like it..
N : I see I see I get it, but it’s also not said by the person who wrote the mail.
U : furthermore they are primary school students right?
N : that’s what she guess
U : ah…like this…if she only talked about coller bones I’ll be able to say that I can get high, but because of saying“Ueda”directly..
N : so if it’s just collarbone then it’s okay? But because of saying“Ueda” directly then it’s now not okay?
U : yes, like what I’ve said…ah I’m just narrow minded/heart is small.
(laughs)
N : so small
U : (laughs)
N : for this year’s Dome concert, the DVD release date has been decided!
U : oh! When is it?
N : 29th Dec!
U : 29th? That’s quite soon
N : so…just nice that at the end of the year won’t we be going back to our hometown to welcome the new year, then we might need to stay awake all night right? So at that time you can use the DVD to kill some time.
U : that’s right
N : please buy it
U : yes while watching it you’ll enter the new year without realising it.
N : (laughs) shouldn’t we avoid that?
U : (laughs)
N : (watch it) a bit before the new year comes
(laughs)
U : and when you realize it the year is already over
N : it’s like didn’t even realize it and ah the year’s over. It’s quite a pity ne. Btw today’s a holiday, it’s Labour Thanksgiving Day
U : I see…
N : it’s a day when everyone give thanks to one another. Heard that Tackey & Tsubasa’s Tsubasa kun gave the manager clothes as presents
U : eh…if that’s the case then I’ve also given clothes to the manager before!
N : Because it’s like “why not try giving him this?” right?
U : no…because I heard that he wants it so I gave it to him
N : ehhh
U : and after receiving it he said “iya, such glamorous clothes, I won’t be able to wear them”
(laughs)
N : there’s a feeling of “even if you feel this way there isn’t a need to say it!”
U : (laughs)
N : we’ve never given Johnny san presents for thanksgiving, but did give him birthday presents.
U : yes yes yes, we did give before
N : didn’t we give him dried plum too? And he said it was delicious too. Apart from this weren’t there other backup presents.
U : Taguchi was thinking hard and kept saying “hmm what should we do..”
N : something like “won’t a hat be nice?”
U : (laughs) hat..
N : or belt, something like that…there were a lot of suggestions. Thinking of presents is surprisingly very interesting
U : maa…if talk about coming up suggestions for presents, then we are…
N : really played a lot of pranks
U : pranks are fun
N : something like “eya isn’t it good?”
(laughs)
N : like “isn’t this quite suitable? And recently doesn’t KAT-TUN exchange presents among members? After this has started, the no. of times that I need to think of what presents to buy for others has increased. Isn’t it Taguchi’s turn next?
U : ah…Taguchi…
N : eh?
(laughs)
N : haven’t you think of it?
U : umm…most of the times after someone’s turn there is more than one month in between right before we start the next one, but Koki and Taguchi’s birthdays are very near.
N : that’s right
U : so it’s like before we forget about it the next one has started
N : and btw it’s soon
U : I have yet to buy that guy’s..Taguchi..
N : I went out and saw one that seems okay. Surprisingly Taguchi loves boring things, so I was thinking of things like sweets and such.
U : what did you get from Taguchi? Like a humidifier?
N : yes
U : then just give that?
(laughs)
N : give the exact same thing back?
U : because that guy also wants it for himself too
N : ahh, I see…but I don’t even know where I can buy it
U : but I’ll probably not win it this time. I feel like this time Koki will probably win it
N : eh?
U : I’ve already seen what Koki bought
N : ah, is it that good?
U : that…it really has a large advantage
N : are you serious, then let’s think carefully
U : uh
N : time to play songs…the release date for “Change Ur World” has already passed, so we can also play other songs. How’s that?
U : then, “Change Ur World”
(laughs)
U : eya no no (laughs). Change Ur World has already been played many times, felt like it’s been repeated lots of times. So play “Neetman” is not bad.
N : eh?
U : thought that I’d say “Change Ur World” right
N : I see, then let’s listen to “Neetman”
U : is it alright to play “Neetman”? then okay
N : onegaishimasu
U : please listen to “Neetman”
Nakamaru grandpa's preaching corner
U : so how’s it, recently have you been saying (like scolding and nagging) your sister at home or other kids around you?
N : nope nope (laughs). What “recently”, I’ve never scold the kids around me before okay!
(laughs)
U : recently it has lessened
N : what has?
U : people who can make you angry…the kids around you
N : I can’t lose my temper anyhow right. Not like they commit a crime and they have their parents to teach them too
U : ah parents…the times have really changed
N : no matter what it’s not for me to intervene right
U : not for you? but we do hope that ojichan can preach
N : if it’s really extreme then I’ll say them
U : I see. Maa, you see, if you preach here, they won’t complain about you since they can’t see your face!
N : eya! It’s revealed, revealed!
(laughs)
U : then let’s start!
**
I’m a girl currently at 2nd year of university. I like a senior from the same club, who already has a girlfriend. But I did spend a night as his house, we hugged, and kissed in the end. (N: what?!). To fall for such a dishonest guy, please scold me.
N : (loudly) that’s wrong!
(laughs)
N : that’s wrong! Because he already has a girlfriend!
U : uh
N : it’s bad for the girlfriend too. Feel like this guy doesn’t care about it
U : this guy is really a playboy right?
N : uh…it’s not good for anyone. And the most pitiful is the guy’s girlfriend!
U : yes! That’s right!
N : so, since we can’t scold the guy directly, then we shall say to the girl first. Maa, please stay clear headed. That guy has yet to break up with the girl, so it’s not good to stay over!
U : uh. If this continues it’ll become a bad habit. Always committing the same mistake, falling for the same type of horrible guy, and in the end you yourself will become a horrible woman too.
N : oh! That’s well said!
U: yes I’m much better than nakamaru ojichan
(laughs)
U : maa, it’s like that…
N : uh
U : recently nakamaru ojichan has not been very helpful
N : why is that so?
U : it’s because you’re scared right?
N : eh?
U : to be complained
N : eya, no no, it’s not like that! Maa it’s because recently the questions have all been rather difficult
U : it’s like a mixture of good and bad
N : uhh, there’s always a grey area, so it’s hard to say that it’s absolutely wrong
U : you need to address the root cause!
N : yes, we need to work hard too!
U : understood! That’s all for Nakamaru ojichan’s preaching corner!
KAT-TUN’s questionable rumours
[Yucchi dyed his hair in order to raise his spirits]
N : totally unrelated!
U : it’s about your timing right? Heard that it’ll be nicer if you dye your hair as the same colour as your eye colour
N : ah is that so?
U : like if it’s your hair’s blonde or black then it’s good to dye it brown [ah sorry not very sure about this line]
N : eh…
U : heard that it’s the best
N : really?
U : uh. Let’s continue
Ueda kun ate and looked at the mirror at the same time, often saying “ah this mirror is not good”, and prepared to change a new mirror. Is that true?
U : this…if it’s correct…so what?
(laughs)
N : feel like you don’t want to talk at all
U : right? I’ll take a mirror wherever I go right? But…that was done on purpose!
N : on purpose? The narcissistic image?
U : like holding a mirror and such
N : ah that’s true, it’s been exaggerated right. It’s during the junior period right?
U : yes, during the junior period
N : during the jr times, when changing don’t we have a full length mirror to 2 people. Ueda kun really took a long time looking at the mirror
U : probably seen me looking at the mirror, and used it as a rumour to spread in front of the audience. At that time I was still a junior, so I thought that I can’t possibly stand up and refute it right
N : yes yes
U : and because the audience laughed at it, during concerts, so if I were to refute it then it’ll spoil the atmosphere, so i did not clear things up
N : ahh
U : don’t you have times like that?
N : used to have it too
U : but if you think about it now, even if we refute it will stil lbe laughed at
N : uh
U : during that time we don’t have such experience, the first time MC in front of the seniors
N : ah, that’s right. We don’t really dare to talk during MC
U : yes yes
N : we’re rather passive ne
U : yes yes
N : so this misunderstanding has remained until now?
U : yes…but I do admit that I look at the mirror longer than others
N : so this rumour is …
U: fake!
N : ah, fake…
U : it’s fake
N : I see…so this rumour is fake
U : yes
Ueda seems to be bad with taiyaki
U : taiyaki…I just don’t like the bean stuffings
N : serious?!
U : feel like it’s not smooth. If it’s been paste then it’s okay
N : why do you dislike bean stuffings?
U : eh, I just dislike the sweet taste of the beans
N : feel like “beans are not supposed to be sweet!” ?
U : my impression of beans is that they should be like soya bean or natto
N : then those also can’t right? Those Red adzuki beans
U : no no no. can’t take it…and I hate raisins too! Even though there isn’t any link between the two
N : (laughs) you really dislike a lot of things ne.
U : yes yes I dislike a lot of things…dislike sashimi too, and mackerel…can you eat them?
N : yes can eat them
U : don’t you dislike anything?
N : nope!
U : oh, lying!
N : normally I like all kinds of food
U : that’s true…you even ate insects before on a show
N : that’s because I don’t have a choice! And it’s also not food right!
(laughs)
U : but it can be eaten?
N : that’s because…there’s no choice but to eat it…I had to eat it no matter what…but for the other food I’m okay with them
U : red bean? Ehh…it’s so rare, do you really not have any?
N : absolutely don’t have, until now there isn’t any
U : Then you definitely can’t go on “食わず嫌い”, that’s right, since you don’t have any food that you dislike
N : ah…is that so
(laughs)
N : so for taiyaki…
U : I don’t dislike it!
N : then what about bean stuffings?
U : not that I can’t eat it…but the one that I’ll *pui* after eating is raisins.
(laughs)
Then nakamaru talked about the release of the DVD, as well as the mail address
After reflecting ending corner
N : this week’s word is this: “raisins too”
U : ah raisins…
N : yes..that phrase is very interesting
U : food in the school canteen will always have raisin bread right?
N : yes there is, probably there still is.
U : do you know?
N : about?
U : milk and stuff. Don’t you think that it’s unbelivable, during secondary school days they will make us drink it
N : uh
U : don’t you feel brain washed?
N : why?
U : can’t we not drink milk? Think about it carefully why must we drink milk from the start
N : to obtain nutrients quickly…
U : then pig’s milk is okay right?
N : maybe it’s because (cow’s) milk has the most ingredient and such
U : then what about human milk?
N : that…no one will have such thoughts right!
U : no one will?
N : I’m not sure too. But even if there is, will there be a lot of people who drink it? Won’t you wonder who’s milk it is?
(laughs)
N : you won’t be able to drink it when eating bread right?
U : that’s true…okay then never mind
N : you’ve been thinking about this? I think that you’re more unbelievable!
(laughs)
U : then see you next week!
N&U : onegaishimasu
MY HERO USED TO BEING SURROUNDED BY WOMEN (>.<)
WINK UP - NOVEMBER 2010
Be One’s Natural Self
Describe the Nakamaru household in one kanji
The “ka” of “kajitsu” (fruit). We really eat fruit a lot. When there’s some kind of fruit on the table, everyone always eats what’s been put out without being particular. Even when I return to my parents' home now, they have some kind of fruit or other. The fruit I love best are strawberries. I really eat them a lot. They’re rich in vitamin C and good for your health!
Within the Nakamaru household you are the XX-child
My position is quite weak. You know, although my own family is like that too, there are a lot of women among my relatives. Even though my father speaks up as well, maybe I should say I’m soothed by my surroundings, or maybe I’m embarrassed… When women get together, they’re really strong, right. Because I have no say in things whatsoever and even when I return home my position is weak… I suppose I’m the “child that feels small”.
Among the members who is the most like the “head of the family”?
Hmmm… Well, it might be me. (laughs) Maybe it’s a matter of age after all? Since I’m the oldest. Everyone is quite reckless, you know, compared to me. So maybe I should say I take a lot of pride in doing stuff like stopping the members from being reckless, when we’re talking or something, and seeking for points of compromise and so on… I often take a neutral position. Well, because I’m like that, maybe I can see things objectively. For better or worse, there’s also that point. However, unlike when I’m with my family, I definitely… have got a say in things.
If you made an appearance in a family drama, which part would you like to play?
Definitely the eldest son! If I wouldn’t be an only child, either a younger brother or a younger sister would be fine. On the contrary, acting that I have an older brother or sister might be difficult. Because I don’t have any older siblings myself, I’m not used to it. Although I’m really used to being surrounded by women. (laughs) So I can’t remember playing boys’ games, but I can remember baking cookies. Thinking like that, a part that’s close to life is of course easy and fun to do. Otherwise, maybe the part of a youth that gets taken away during the war? The mother and sister sending that youth off… I’d also like to try doing something like that.
What’s new
Thanks to the Wink Up message board, I managed to exchange addresses with director Kojima (Hideo). I met director Kojima, who I really wanted to see, the other day. When I met him for real, he was a really openhearted person and exactly like I imagined him. Isn’t it a long time ago I was this excited about meeting someone? Because I was so energized when I thought “Oh my god! It’s really him!” But, because I was too nervous I couldn’t properly convey my enthusiasm, so after this I’ll have to let him know by e-mail.
HE DIDN'T MENTION ABOUT MY COUNTRY AT ALL (T_T)
DUET - AUGUST 2010
NAKAMARU YUICHI
Q1 : What is your favourite country in the world?
Japan. Isn’t it obvious?! The best country is the one you live in!! Probably the 2nd one is Hawaii.
Q2 : Your best 3 country you want to see?
1st place: America, or better, Hawaii. 2nd place: India. I want to see its culture. 3rd place: China. It’s the country that has force right now.
Q3 : What’s your favourite dish in the world?
White rice with miso soup. I like potatoes most among all the ingredients. As side dish? Uhm, if there’s fish, it’s ok.
Q4 : What is the foreign dish you are able to cook?
Since omuraisu is called “western food”, is it ok for “foreign dish” too? (laughs) My pride is boiled eggs!
Q5 : The first foreign country you went to?
Hawaii. During Jr. time we went there for work[*], and I enjoyed myself so much that I though “It’s good I entered in the Johnny’s company”.
Q6 : The greatest happening you lived when you were in a foreign country?
Not long time ago, when I went to Korea for work, I realized at the airport that I had forgot the passport, so I returned at home to pick it up, and I take another flight (cries).
Q7 : The most important memory you have about a trip outside for work?
I enjoyed myself every time, wherever I went, but I guess it’s Hawaii. Because I’ve got memories about how we were extremely noisy during our Jr. days.
Q8 : The best trip in a foreign country you did privately?
Macao was good too, but the best was Hawaii. I could feel the untouched nature, that is, volcanoes and the true charm of nature.
Q9 : The souvenir that made you happier?
It may be me, but when I bought clothes of a brand not yet selling in Japan, and then after 2 months they landed to Japan, I felt a bit of sense of superiority. (laughs)
Q10 : What do you absolutely carry with you during a trip?
Sandals. They’re comfortable when appropriate shoes are troublesome, for example when I go from the hotel to the supermarket!
Q11 : A memory or a challenge in Asia you want to make from now on?
Even the concerts outside Japan we’re doing this time are a challenge. First of all, now I want to enjoy with everyone the concerts in Korea and Taiwan!
Q12 : “When I’m travelling, I suck in this”: what is it?
Uhm, to me food is absolutely indifferent… Even the culture, I’m “when in Rome do as the Romans do”… So, nothing particulary.
Q13 : What’s the fact that occurred when you went outside Japan with the members that you remember most?
When, in the middle of the night, we did a sudden acrobatic competition on the shore. I did the filming, since I can’t do acrobatics.
Q14 : The world news that right now you’re interested in?
Of course the World Cup! It’s a feast for the whole world. I think it’s a chance for South Africa to develop the economy too.
Q15 : Tell us the plan of the journey you suggest to do!
Personally my first suggestion is Hawaii Island, but if you want to enjoy shopping too, it may be good Oahu Island too.
YEAH... GIVE ME MORE... GIVE ME MORE~~~ (JUST READ THE TRANSLATION AND IGNORE MY PERVERTNESS)
NAKAMARU YUICHI'S MESSAGE ON CUW
Dated : 14th November 2010
In 'CHANGE YOUR WORLD's video clip, to make the instrumental parts a bit better, we added dancing parts. So, this time I think the dancing during the intervals have become the highlights.
In the limited edition cd, the second (song) included is 'REMEMBER', as always, it's a song with a different flavour, so having 'CHANGE UR WORLD' with this different (song) I think is good.
This time, because Taguchi said 'beat box is a must!', I gladly participated in Taguchi's solo song as well. The recording was done completely under Taguchi's instructions, things like the beat box as well, and it felt like something different from what I always do by myself.
That’s why I want to listen to things like that beat box part too. Also Taguchi, Koki and myself, the three of us did a song, and because it's not something we usually do, it's rare (for us), it was extremely fun. We tried doing the song itself as cool as possible, so please do listen to it.
'GIVE ME, GIVE ME, GIVE ME' in the regular edition is my favourite song. Though probably just because I think 'ain't the dancing cool~'. Because the vocals are rhythmical, it's also nice to listen too.
Since we heard the demo of this song, (we thought) when would be good to take it out, and it was done discreetly at the time of release. Eventually we chose the timing at our own discretion, and I think everyone wanted to hear it released quickly, and it's just included as a coupling (song) for this regular edition, but even so, it's a song that everyone in KAT-TUN is pleased with.
For this time's single, personally the (my) image in the filming of 'CHANGE UR WORLD's video clip making, as I prepared the second round of the game corner project, I hope you enjoy that.
Honestly, while I received help from staff-san, I thought up every little aspect of it by myself. Because thinking about and comparing when I did the first time in 'Going!', I really wanted everyone's advice too. To lead onto the third time. I think I did it well but… From here too I want to arrange (more) fun corners.
Starting 'CHANGE UR WORLD', and the other songs too, everyone was particular about the small aspects (of the songs), what we created is (in this) one (release). I hope our work will be enjoyed by everyone.
I WISH I COULD BE A MASSAGE GIRL IN JAPAN SO THAT I WILL PROBABLY GET A CHANCE TO MEET YUCCHI
ORI-STA
Dated : 28th June 2010
This picture is not from the interview. I'm just wondering how many massage girls have touched smooth is Yucchi's skin... ehehee
NAKAMARU YUICHI
Q1. What do you want that people notice about your solo? (26-year-old girl, Chiba)
This time I wrote the lyrics about the theme of “meet”. After having meet and then going out together, the time passes and the freshness (in the relationship) will be lost along the way, but I wanted to sing about “love doesn’t change”. But isn’t right that couples having a period of ennui? Then, this time I did both the chorus and the harmony by myself. It took me time, but it’s full of affection, so I hope you’ll listen to it.
Q2. If, on the last day of the world, you could go for a last meal with the members, what would you eat with everyone? (27-year-old girl, Kanagawa)
A fruits disposition. It seems that in this way we can’t reunite both (who wants to eat) the taste of everyone’s mom cooking and who wants to eat meat, but if there are fruits maybe everyone will agree. Even just watching is in a certain way refreshing.
Q3. When you are busy for tour, what will heal you? (24-year-old girl, Kanagawa)
Massage. I always go without missing an appointment.
Q4. What is a secret of a member that only you know? (33-year-old woman, Kanagawa)
It’s not a secret, but recently Ueda sticks on his cheek butterflies’ stickers. Well, when the concert ended, in the resting room that sticker fell, he stepped upon it and stuck to his shoe. Moreover, it wasn’t able to take it off even with his full force. Even peeling it off, the shoe would be sticking, so he was in trouble.
I THOUGHT HE LOVES MAGURO ~LOL~
DUET - NOVEMBER 2010
NAKAMARU YUICHI
Q1. What is your favourite food?
Deep-fried blowfish. I like foods that fizzle.
Q2. What is the food you hate?
Hackberry. I like the taste, but I hate how they get caught between the teeth.
Q3. What is the food you’re good at?
Cow meat with garlic. With salt and pepper, or with soy sauce, it gains taste.
Q4. What would you be pleased to find in a bento?
Strawberries. If they’re western-style bento, sometimes you find them.
Q5. What is the “Autumn food”?
Sanma (TrN: it seems it’s a Pacific saury). Eating roasted sanma in autumn is the best, and it’s good.
Q6. What is the menu you’d like your girlfriend will cook?
If it’s cooked for me, everything is fine!
Q7. What is your favourite sweet?
Strawberry tart. I go to buy it at a shop alone too.
Q8. What is your favourite fruit?
Strawberries. But I like all the season fruits.
Q9. What is the “mother’s flavour”?
A roll of cabbage (stuffed with minced meat, TrN). Thinking about it, recently I’ve never eat it…
Q10. What was your favourite menu at school?
Hog kimchee chaofan (fried rice). A menu that reminds me of my elementary school!
I WANT TO BECOME A MORE SOCIABLE PERSON AND BECOME ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH LOTS OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE
POPOLO - SEPTEMBER 2010
NAKAMARU YUICHI
“Everyone lives carrying on his worries. Of course, me too.”
During hard times, I remember the fans!
When KAT-TUN were formed, we took part at the “~SHOCK” show that lasted for 2 months, and that was a huge turning point. Extremely hard days occurred one after another, at the level to almost have bloody urine (bitter smile). However, since we had no choice but to do it, every day was a desperation. But after you've experienced a very hard trial once, even if a job that makes you think “This may be the limit for my capacity right now” arrives, your heart doesn't break down. You think “Remember that time”. Oh well, I don't want to remember that time at all! (laughs)
Speaking about it, even when I was filming the drama “RESCUE” there were days that unexpectedly exceeded both mind and body's limits. I had such a hard schedule that I had almost no time for myself. But when I heard fan voices like “It was good!” from those fans that watched me, I was happy. The encouragements from you all became my strenght as never happened before.
I want to study more and become a more sociable person!
Speaking about “The wall that I was able to overcome”, there's another memory that flashes across my mind, that is the University entrance examination. At a certain point, I was ashamed that I knew almost nothing about this small world. I thought that, as a member of the society, I had to study more, (so I tried) the entrance examination. When I passed it I thought “Now study!” (laughs). But now the assignments' presentations are very difficult, so my present condition is “I have to hang on!” more than “a wall that I was able to overcome”! (laughs). I'm the type of person that tends to hide himself in his world, but from now on my aim is to open to everything is related to mankind. I want to become a more sociable person and become able to communicate with lots of different people.
YUCCHI, PLEASE COME TO MY COUNTRY!
WINK UP - SEPTEMBER 2010
LAUGH WITH PLEASE
After the end of the Tokyo Dome and the Korean exibitions, the “World big tour” will be end soon. During the promotion, there was a time when they went Korea too, so we asked about the interesting points of Korea!
NAKAMARU YUICHI
About the study of foreign languages, are you good or weak?
I don't think I'm weak, but I want be good! (laugh) You know, I want to think that since are words, everyone can learn languages. Moreover, I want to think that I'm managing in doing it (laugh). My English scores in middle school weren't good, like I couldn't remember it well. I was said from the teacher to do it, but I wasn't able to understand all the meaning of the things I was studying. It wasn't a matter of “love or hate”, simply I was studying. Since now I've got a goal, the attitude toward the study changed. I've become positive toward the studies. The contents of University English lessons fortunately are different from the ones of middle school, now are very interesting. Now lessons are finished, but because I don't want to lose the study of English, I'll continue.
What language would you be happy to be able to speak?
First of all, English. If you can speak English, you can speak with a fair amount of people. After all, if I can be able to convey what I think, even the journeys overseas would be easier, because if you can't convey your thoughts you will feel stress.
The last Korean words you learned
“Onurunzegashilukeyo”, “Today I'll pay”. Since Korean and Japanese have the same grammar, it's easy to study it, even if I simply don't understand hangul (laugh). But even if I study the way of writing, if I don't understand the pronunciation and the meaning I can't use it, so I'm studying especially the speaking. I want to be able to speak more before the Korean concert. Everyone has studied the useful “anyon”. It's a word similar to a rough “hello”, used all the day. Knowing this, we can say hello. After all, the first step in a conversation is the greeting!
The interesting Korean thing that Nakamaru suggests
Of course the food. The samgetan I ate in Korea was delicious! It was absolutely different from the one I ate in Japan. They brought 1 chicken, but the weight a person alone can eat; isn't perfect for a lunch? I'm not good with spicy foods, but it didn't gave me problems. I thought that it would have to not be changed in Japan.
Recently :
3 weeks from now the lessons will end and will be summer, so now I'm on a mountain. (The interview was taken in July). But there are things worth to do. When you're busy, if you end all the things you have to do, you feel satisfied, right? I like when I can say “I did it! Now I'm free!”. In this term there were subjects that I absolutely didn't want to fail, but now I've got the confidence I'll pass them. Since I think I won't have assigments during summer holidays, I'll end everything before the Korean concert and I'll enjoy the summer holidays doing the tour.
Translator's note : saying that “now it's a mountain”, it means that he has to do his last efforts to end his school semester (that is, the last before reaching at the peak = holidays)
TEARS WHEN WATCHING TITANIC ARE CALLED MAN TEARS ~LOL~
WINK UP - FEBRUARY 2010
The first time you ___ alone
The first time I went somewhere alone was probably to a family restaurant. I think I was in highschool, and after work I got told 'I haven't prepared anything today so eat out ok?' and I thought 'What should I do...?' and that's the first time I went into a restaurant by myself. After I ordered, I had no idea what I should do, so I just played on my phone. The whole time I was waiting I was nervous, my heart was like 'doki doki', (lol).
Your first fight
I do my utmost not to get into fights, I'm the type that's always going "Hey hey, come on now..." (lol). Have I had a fight? Ah, that's right, I had one when I was in junior school. There was someone who wanted to come and pick a fight with one of my class mates. He didn't even have a reason. At first he did nothing to my class mate, but he was so overly persistant that I thought I was just going to have to fight him, and I seem to remember it just turned into a grappling fight. In the end though I got punched in the face and got a nose bleed so I lost. But then I had a reason so it turned into a tussle, and the other kid ended up saying "Ok I got it, that's enough, let's stop this". And I believed what he said so I let our hands go and as soon as I did, I got punched again. That was around first grade, and ever since then, I've stopped trusting people... (lol)
Your first reward to yourself
Well it's not the first, but the time before last, after I finished a tight job as a present to myself I went to the sushi shop I've been interested in. It's not the kind of place you can just enter causually, so I think it was my [good] timing. There was no sign to give prices, they just leave you to it. Anyway from the start there was sea urchin, and salmon roe, just popping out one after the other and I was seriously thinking 'What the hell~', it cost way more that what I thought but even though it was pricey, well ~ it was really good!
Your first tears of happiness, first man-tears
I have this memory of when I was in third year of middle school, watching Titanic and bawling my eyes out. But maybe that wasn't the first time I'd cried like that... It's really hard to refrain from crying while watching movies. I felt really sorry for the friends that went to see it with me.
At the moment/recently
Um... ah, that's right. Today I got home delivery and I could see the guy who brought it on the intercom, he looked like a cheery kinda guy. Then, when I opened the door, just like what I saw on the intercom, was this really crisp looking person. He said "The receipt is with your order thanks very much", and just like that, he left. He handed it over so frantically it seems he forgot to take the money. Man, that really surprised me. Of course I called out 'Hey, I haven't paid you know~!' and paid properly. But if I hadn't said anything, that guy would have just gone no problems, without getting the money, lol.
